I was born in Iowa and raised in Colorado. In fact, I spent most of my middle school and high school years wandering the beautiful Colorado mountains. Being curious about my best friend’s faith, I started attending church services and an InterVarsity Bible study during my first semester in college. During that semester, I encountered Jesus and trusted in Him for the first time. This experience has given me a passion for sharing Christ with people who do not yet know Him, especially teenagers. I know firsthand that through Jesus our deepest needs are met.
I feel my calling is to help teenagers walk faithfully with Jesus and support parents as their kids experience their teenage years. This blog is kind of a journal for me. I'm still working out what it means to minister to students, and one of the ways that helps me process all that I experience and learn is through writing.
I am married to Jennifer, the best companion for the Journey I could ever ask for. We met working together with youth and fell in love while leading a ministry to young adults in south Denver, Colorado. We have two beautiful daughters, Bethany and Samantha, and they are well worth the amount of sleep I have lost these past few years.
By the way, the opinions expressed on this site are my own, and not necessarily those of Washington Heights.
