Occasionally, my wife Jennifer reminds me that I should watch T.V. from time to time to see what our students are watching. Right now, she enjoys "The Middle" on ABC (although I'd expect more parents are watching this show than teenagers). She recommended a great episode that includes a church youth group "holy hay ride" as an alternative Halloween activity. It was a hilarious commentary (from a secular perspective) on how the Church interacts with culture as well as a funny caricature of the typical youth pastor. My favorite line:
Youth Pastor: "So you're in a rough patch. You know who else hit a rough patch? Jesus. He was dead. But then, three days later, he was back on his feet, rockin' it resurrection style."
