A Thankful Moment

A couple of weeks ago, a member of our church handed me some information about some fundraising opportunities through a local restaurant.  I thanked her and told her we'd consider it when the time came.  Last week, I saw her and her husband in the church office during the week, and she asked me if I had a chance to look at it.  I told her I had, and when she asked if we would consider doing it soon, I told her that we didn't have anything that would require a fundraiser until our summer mission trip to San Francisco.

The husband chimed in "Really?  I've never heard of a youth group that didn't always need to do fundraisers."  I told him that while we provide fundraising opportunities for students to go on mission trips, our church leadership feels very strongly that the youth ministry be funded entirely by the church budget.  He said he was "shocked" (in a good way) that we didn't have to do constant fund raising just to fund our budget.

I'm thankful to be a part of a church that values youth ministry this much.
