Side note: When students ask these kinds of questions, youth pastors need to have an answer. Now, sometimes that answer might be "I don't know, can we maybe study through it together?" But we need to be committed to studying the tough questions that students ask. Not everyone will agree with Piper because his answer comes from his reformed theological commitments, but we owe it to students to be ready to work through the tough theological questions. Because a student who asks the question that was presented to Piper isn't just asking this question about the Old Tesetament; she's asking it about her friend who died young in a car accident or rare disease.
