Blog Post by a Student

A German exchange student who was a part of our church during the last school year (she stayed with one of our families) has a blog called, "A Simple Life" where she posts in English.  It's been cool to see God work in her, both while she was here and after she went back home to Germany.  Here's an excerpt from a recent post:
In Germany, a lot of people say that the youth of today doesn't believe in God, that there is nobody who fights for God who is my age. But that's not true. I see it everyday at my school, we don't have a lot of people believe in Christ; they don't go to church or to prayers or stuff like that, they are in the darkness. But we also have people who fight for bringing back that light into my school, who fight for showing how God is using us. God made everysingle one of us to be a warrior of light, to bring his light into the world.
I love it when students desire to be used by God right where they are.  It's always a good reminder that my job isn't to do all the ministry, but rather to equip those I serve "for the work of ministry":

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ... (Ephesians 4:11-13, ESV)

When students have a passion for following Jesus, my job is to equip and release them to serve however God leads them. Thanks for the reminder, Chrissi!
