A Friend and Hero

I've noted this on Twitter, but I wanted to share this story here. On December 16th, Daniel Riley, a friend of ours and Marine, was injured by a bomb in Afghanistan. Daniel has been in a Naval hospital in Maryland for the past month, and will spend the next 18 months in San Diego rehabilitating. He lost his legs above the knee and a few fingers, so he'll also be getting fitted for and used to his prosthetics.

Daniel is a wonderful young man and follower of Jesus. His dad, Neil (a mentor and good friend of mine), has been with Daniel since he arrived on U.S. soil, and has kept a blog of Daniel's progress and recovery. He will stand by his son for the next six months and assist him as he recovers (Neil lives in Littleton, CO), taking unpaid leave from his job.

Please stop by Daniel's blog and read the story of God's provision and mercy in this tragedy. Feel free to leave a quick comment of thanks, encouragement, or prayer as well.
