Must Read Post from Doug Fields: Married to Your Job

Last week, Doug Fields compiled a great list of "10 Signs you might be married to your job" I was simply going to Tweet this one out, but I wanted to go one step further: If you're married and reading this post, make sure you go to the post on Doug's site, print it out, hand it to your wife or husband, and ask them to grade you on each of the ten signs you might be married to your job. I did this over the weekend with my wife while we were away for a few days without our kids, and it was a great conversation. If you're not married, print it out and save it for when you do get married. Here are the first three signs:

1. You come home and immediately jump into work: or if you don’t work immediately, you’re thinking about it while you’re “paying your family dues.”
2. You’re regularly giving your marriage/family your emotional table-scraps.
3. You find yourself saying, “This pace is just for a season” but your spouse would say, “You’re always saying ‘it’s just a season.’”

Read them all.
