Sermon Illustration of the Day: Pitcher gives up home run to first batter faced in Majors

Have you ever felt like everything was going just like you wanted, like your dreams were coming true, and things just sort of--fell apart? Evan MacLane probably felt that way just after his Major League dream came true when he was called upon to pitch in his first game for the St. Louis Cardinals.  Moments later, he promptly gave up a home run to the first batter he faced.

Iannetta then connected against Evan MacLane (0-1), called up from Triple-A before the game.
"Not a good debut," Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa said.
McLane agreed."I'm not happy with it," he said. "I'm here to pitch and I have to help the team win. I should have made a better pitch."

Have you ever felt like MacLane did at that moment?  Like things just didn't go according to your plans?
