Explanation: in my first month as a youth pastor, a student fell out of a tree, maybe 10-15 feet off the ground. He had assured me just five minutes prior that he'd been climbing that tree since he was a little kid. I seriously thought a student had died on my watch.

Ha! Who was lost; the fireworks or the kids?
Short version.
Thousands of people downtown Vancouver Canada. Big fireworks show. Two jr. high girls don't return at agreed upon time. Sweat it out for a couple hours. Call one of the parents to break the news. Turns out the girls had someone they knew in the area drive them home without actually passing that along to me.
Crazy time.
