Super-Duper
The winner: Being a husband and a father gets more and more fun every day. Really. I'm not sure I've slept much since Bethany was born in 2008, but it's been well-worth it.
Honorable Mention:
God continues to provide for our family, albeit in such a way that helps us to trust in him each step along the way.
My wife, Jennifer, has been able to teach at our church on Thursdays and really enjoys it--and has a HUGE passion for it!
Samantha, our one-year-old, continues to be healthy (after a rough go the first month of her life in the hospital), and extensive tests this month showed that her heart, lungs, and immune system are in tip-top shape, and her purple hands and lips are simply the result of "abnormal physiology." Praise God!
Meeting with LDS missionaries for seven weeks this summer. I learned a LOT about LDS theology, and made some new friends, too! Too bad they got transfered...
We have such good friends at church and have been blessed with people we can count on when we need it most.
Über-Goober
The winner (er, loser?): Being worried about Samantha this fall when her hands and lips started turning purple...a lot.
Honorable Mention:
Jennifer's brother was diagnosed with a heart deformity this month and is awaiting major surgery that can hopefully wait until after Christmas.
My sister's divorce was final in March. It made my heart break for her.
Jennifer is having a tough time finding her place in Utah (outside of church life). But we are getting to know our friends down the street better!
It's been a good year for us, and we have much to be thankful for. What are your personal Super-Dupers and Über-Goobers for 2010?
